Radio One is the latest station to go on air with Master Control
Mumbai - 16 May 2008– Radio continues to gain momentum in India, especially in cities with a young population and a vibrant economy. The latest example is the city of Pune where Radio One launched its sixth station just a few days ago. Barely a month ago, Radio City had joined the long established Radio Mirchi on the airwaves in this Maharashtra boomtown with over 5 million people.
All three commercial radio stations are relying on RCS for essential parts of their radio operation.
Radio One launched with Master Control as studio system, fully integrated with Selector and Linker as content schedulers.
Vehrnon Ibrahim, Vice President for Programming at Radio One, supervised the launch personally and said: "RCS was there for us when it counted, offering an affordable system, handling the setup and installation in a very short time and being on site with us during the critical hours of the launch. Since then, Master Control is running smoothly and gives us the control that we want and need in a competitive situation."
Radio One also uses Airwaves Traffic from RCS as scheduling and billing solution for the commercials in its Pune setup. In addition, Airwaves handles contract administration, customer relations and complete reporting. Airwaves Traffic is used by broadcasters worldwide, in more than 1.200 stations spread across 45 countries.
RCS will present Airwaves Traffic along with Airwaves Online, the proposal generator module, and introduces the next generation of traffic, Aquira, at the India Radio Forum in Mumbai on 30 May 2008.
